Camouflage Denim Jeggings, Yes You Can!
This season is all about crow barring as much military influence into your fashion as possible. There are military jackets, military belts, and much much more waiting to be worn. The latest military trend can be seen in the oft maligned jegging market, where camouflage prints are becoming popular, having been worn by Cheryl Cole and Kylie Minogue.
The problem with camouflage clothing is that it has often been associated with people of a certain type. The type that makes one feel uncomfortable in confined spaces. But we can reclaim the camouflage print for fashion! We can return some dignity to the concept of strutting about safe city streets whilst dressed as if Armageddon is about to start any moment.
The fact that this trend is being associated with jeggings complicates the matter further, after all, jeggings seem to be a sly way to get around the 'tights are not to be worn as pants' rule that has been strictly enforced by fashion police in recent months.
Will People Still Respect You If You Wear Jeggings?
Are jeggings a 'real' item of clothing? Will you be mocked mercilessly if you attempt to wear them without first becoming famous?
Like most things in life, it's not what you do, but how you do it that matters. If you skulk about the place in camouflage jeggings with rounded shoulders and a downtrodden expression, people may look down upon your fashion choices. If, on the other hand, you proudly wear your camouflage jeggings with pride, perhaps accessorize your outfit with a statement necklace and a neat shirt with enough detailing to override the potentially sloppy effect of the jeggings, then others will follow your lead and you will find yourself a local pied piper of fashion.
Are You Tall Enough For Camouflage Jeggings?
Fashion experts recommend that people with short legs avoid camouflage patterns however, as they tend to shrink one visually in the eyes of others and make one's posterior and thighs look large. If you're quite tall and skinny however, you can wear whatever the heck you want and look good, so really, fashion advice is wasted on you.
Also, fashion experts neglect to take into account that Kylie Minogue is around 2'4 and looks great in a pair of camouflage jeggings. Maybe its time we discarded the fashion experts and just did whatever we wanted to do and wore whatever we wanted to wear.
Fashion anarchy, that's the only answer.
