Manly Corsets For Men

The first thing that starts to spread on men as they pass their mid twenties and head full tilt into middle age is their girth. For centuries, women strapped their waists in using corsets before realizing that they were doing it all wrong and showing their bare midriffs where ever possible, but modern women and men both face the specter of a spreading gut which threatens to ruin the lines of their stylish garments. What can be done about this? Plenty. That's what can be done.

It's a relatively unknown fact that corsets are still available for men to this day, just as they are for women, and that men often wear corsets to create the impression of a flat stomach without the need to eat asparagus non stop for thirty days or perform endless repetitive exercises in gymnasiums of torturous death.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not opposed to exercise, I'm just realistic enough to admit that modern life has made us sluggish and weak and there is no shame in employing technology to fix that particular problem as it has fixed so many others.

Men's corsets and differ from women's corsets in that they are not designed to pinch the waist in, creating a waspish look which borders on the creepy, rather they are designed to shape and contour the male torso flat. Men's corsets and girdles sit lower on the body than their female counterparts, and are often elongated to match the male frame.

A male corset can make all the difference on a special day as it gives the wearer a more classically 'masculine' frame, slimming the stomach and emphasizing the breadth of the shoulders. Modern men's corsets are often designed to be worn as outerwear, as illustrated in the picture.

Of course, men can wear women's corsets as well, though the effects will be markedly different. If you are a larger man, try shopping for a long line corset, as shorter corsets may be far too short for you and instead of getting a lovely feminine silhouette you may simply feel as if you're being cut in half by an angry Victorian magician, which is no fun for anyone.

Whether one opts for a male or female corset, it is undeniable that corsets and corsetry can become addictive. Many men and women enjoy the feeling of being held in securely by the corset and find that the flattering figure which comes along with the wearing of a corset is merely a secondary benefit. If you find yourself in this category, I shall brook no whining after the fact. You were warned.
