Petticoats, Slips and Chemises For Men

Updated on November 13, 2010

I usually write about traditional lingerie for men, but the truth of the matter is that there is a whole wide world of lingerie out there, like petticoats.

I have discovered through extensive research that what Americans refer to as petticoats and what British people refer to as petticoats are two different things. To avoid confusion (or perhaps, encourage it) I will be referring to petticoats, as in those frilly skirt creations which can be layered beneath dresses for extra lift. Slips, as in extended camisoles which cover the body from shoulders to thighs, shoulders to knees, or shoulders to toes, and chemises which typically end somewhere under the buttocks.

Petticoats

Pretty, frilly, lacy petticoats are a delight to behold. At one time they were an essential part of every repressed woman's wardrobe. (If you think a burka is bad, try stuffing your waist into a corset then layering the lower half of your body in so many sheets of lace that it's difficult to find your own legs.)

Fortunately in today's modern world we no longer beat women for failing to wear several petticoats whilst out and about and they've become a fun and pretty immodest way to look hot in lingerie. From traditional petticoats which flare on the floor, to super short petticoats designed to hide under miniskirts, there's a petticoat for every man who loves to wear lingerie. Just think of the yards of lace flowing about your legs.

Slips

Slips are the perfect lingerie for men. Why? They provide a great deal of coverage of the smooth and silky kind. They also look and feel a lot like a dress, which some men who wear lingerie will particularly enjoy.

Chemises

If you want to experience the lingerie thrill of a slip but don't want to be seen to be wearing a 'dress' then a chemise walks that naughty line between camisole and full blown slip. Dip your toe into deeper lingerie waters by slipping into one of these babies and I can't guarantee you'll be able to restrain yourself from going all the way to a full slip. Don't say that you weren't warned, that's all I can say.

So, there you have it chaps, a whole new avenue of lingerie has opened up to you. Sure it may be a little more feminine than the lingerie you're used to (how ironic was that statement), but you may find that the thrill of forbidden lingerie is even stronger when you experience it in a petticoat, slip or chemise.
