Sometimes wearing lingerie is an act of rebellion. It is a signal that tells the world (subtly, under your clothes) that you will not be a slave to the norms enforced on you since childhood. No longer will you suffer in itchy cotton jockeys which do nothing for you on any level. No longer will you buy into the myth of utilitarian male underwear, no you will wear women's lingerie and be proud of it! But what lingerie will you wear?
Allow me to make a few suggestions...
Two colors come to mind when I think of rebellion, red and black. Black lingerie is usually relatively easy to come by as it never goes out of style. Reds come and go, peaking around Valentine's Day (when retailers get together and tell us to buy our boyfriends and girlfriends, wives and husbands something special) and then disappearing until Christmas where they re-emerge in Santa themed lingerie costumes.
Rebellious doesn't have to mean raunchy, but it can do if you'd like it to. Crotchless panties may look naughty, but they could also potentially dull your lingerie pleasures, what with the strategic panel missing and all. Still, if you want to rebel against the idea of utility entirely, you can't get much less utilitarian than crotchless panties, perhaps complemented with an open tipped brassiere.
Stockings and suspenders have class, but they also hold a note of rebellion against them. They are the lingerie of the man or woman who knows exactly what he or she wants. They are high powered, intense, and impossible to ignore, even under a business suit.
Go with straps. Strappy lingerie comes in all makes and styles, and you can purchase strappy panties, brassieres, body stockings, anything you desire. The strappyness is so naughty, so bad, you'll love the way it looks on your body.
Rebellion does not have to come at the sacrifice of comfort. It also does not need to be shouted from the rooftops, rebellion can be as quiet as the whispering of a business suit over nylon stockings on one's way from a board meeting, or as incidental as the riding up of a cheeky thong above a pair of workman's jeans.
Rebellion is about finding and taking back one's power, and gentlemen, the panty power is yours. Simply slip on a pair of whatever you find the most comfortable and go about your day, living your life your way. Life is simply too short to wear ugly lingerie when your heart, body and mind cry out for sweet lingerie release.

Trashy, cheap and loud lingerie makes a great statement... but it often slips up creases, cracks and crevices it was never meant to invade. I personally enjoy feminine, colorful and form fitting (not saying shapewear here) lingerie that whispers about my feminine side but does not shout it out for the world to hear. I have fallen into that and heard the whispers about my panty line, my camisole strap showing and even once set off an airport security alarm with my garter buckles. Give me subltey over rebellion any day and I will be a contented underdresser!

Those sound like the words of a well travelled man who wears lingerie Mikki :D, did they check your garters?
Start wearing puuuuuuuuuuuuuuurple for me now :P
Hope - oh yes... I was taken behind the screen and had to show them the buckles. The only way to do that was to drop my trousers exposing not only my satin garterbelt and matching panties, but the lovely coordinating camisole I was also wearing. The TIA guys both got a good laugh, I was horribly embarassed and a valuable lesson was learned!
the ones with straps are such winners its unreal! haha
Wow, travel security guards suck... the stories I could tell...
Damn it Misha, start behaving yourself, would you :)
Sorry Hope, I was in a playful mood yesterday night ;)
