Sexy Yellow PVC Raincoats
Raincoats. Yellow raincoats. They shield the flesh from the elements and are just as at home in the bedroom as they are on the deck of an Alaskan fishing boat. Few garments can claim to be that versatile.
When purchasing PVC rainwear, one has many choices. One can pop down to the local retailer of rainwear and search about the stock for PVC rainwear. Unfortunately, oftentimes nylon will have crept in and contaminated the store to the point where PVC may be utterly unavailable. Nylon rainwear is lighter and cheaper than PVC, so it is often given preference by those without discretion in their choice of rainwear.
PVC, on the other hand, is tougher, stronger, thicker and moves with a much more pleasing aural timbre than nylon. Aficionados of rainwear often prefer PVC for this very reason. One also has to be careful that the raincoat one is purchasing is actually entirely PVC. There are plenty of PVC / Polyester blends out there which might be okay if all you want is protection from the rain, but not if you want to truly experience the joys of unadulterated PVC.
On the other hand, if you're prepared to take a diluted PVC rain coat, you may save some serious cash. Blends cost less than half the price of full PVC raincoats. Take the two raincoats below, for instance. On the left we have the LaCrosse Heavyweight PVC / Polyester blend raincoat, which retails for around $17. On the right we have a Carharrt PVC raincoat which retails for much closer to $40 – and that's when it is on sale.
When it comes to rainwear, quality counts. If your rainwear is unlikely to ever see any real showers, you can probably get away with lower cost PVC blends quite happily. However, if you like to put your rainwear to the test – if you like to run your rainwear through its paces time and time again, then quality is what counts. A one time investment in a high quality PVC raincoat or mackintosh is likely to last you many years.
If you don't like the look of industrial PVC raincoats, then Vintage PVC raincoats may be just the ticket for you. The pictured PVC raincoat is from Suzie High Vintage in the UK and weilds the many charms of being designed around classic lines, of being 100% PVC, and of being light and just that little bit translucent. Heaven.
