Mary Kate Olsen And The Case Of The Missing Clothes

Updated on September 22, 2010

In spite of the fact that they began their entertainment careers as infants, something which is generally a curse, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen have managed to continue to pop in and out of the limelight their whole lives. That's because the Olsen's are flexible. Even as babies they sensed that feel good family comedy would be the best niche for them to exploit. As they grew older they became the queens of the tweenies, and now they are high profile fashionistas. Lady Fame (Lady Luck's ironically lesser publicized sister) has certainly smiled kindly on the Olsens. However, no matter who you are, there are times when one's public stock begins to dip a little. Evidently publicity was flagging a little when Mary Kate revealed that one of her favorite things to do was run around her house naked. Britney was doing a lot of that at the time as well. I guess that's the Olsen secret, jumping on trends and riding them until you just grow too damn big for them.

In Harper's Bazaar, October 2007 edition, Mary Kate revealed her secret penchant. "I run around my house naked with heels all the time. It's so funny. All my friends will tell you I love running around in kimonos and jewelry or naked with jewelry."

Interesting. Not only does she enjoy being naked, she also enjoys being naked around others. This phenomenon would commonly be known as exhibitionism. But should we be surprised that a young woman whose formative years were almost exclusively devoted to showing off for cameras and people, and who was rewarded with millions upon millions of dollars for her efforts, might find joy in stripping down and exposing herself to the no doubt awed gazes of her friends?

Fortunately, or perhaps unfortunately, depending on your level of desire to see Mary Kate Olsen naked, she does seem to confine her nudist activities to the privacy of her own home. Given the diminutive nature of her figure (a polite way of saying that she makes skeletons look obese), I would err on the side of being eternally grateful.

Still, its nice to keep tabs on these things isn't it. Perhaps as they develop their careers further there may even be a niche in the adult industry for the twins. It would seem to be an unlikely prospect, then again, nobody is above a sex tape. Some pretty classy celebrities have ended up copulating on camera, such as Screech from 'Saved By The Bell' one day he was an innocent 'child' star, the next he was doing things on camera which made anyone who viewed it much less innocent. That's irony. Sexual Irony.
